Privacy Policy

The short version
Filmode edits your photos on your device — editing never uploads your images anywhere. An optional account unlocks cloud features (shared photo boards, the creator marketplace, Pro on the web). If you create one, we store the account details and the content you deliberately upload, and you can delete your account and that data from inside the app at any time (see “Deleting your account”). We use privacy-preserving analytics to improve the app — never tied to your photos.
Photos & camera
- Photo library access is used only to open images you pick and to save your exports.
- Camera access is used only for the live LUT camera and the Vibe camera. Frames are processed in real time on device.
- Saved projects (images and edit settings) are stored locally in the app's sandbox.
- Photos leave your device only when you explicitly upload them — e.g. adding a shot to a shared Vibe board.
Your account (optional)
You can use every editing feature of Filmode without an account. Signing in — with Apple, Google, or email — creates an account with our authentication provider (Supabase) so shared boards and purchases work across the app, the web camera, and Android. If you sign in, we process:
- Identity: your email address, display name, and (for Apple/Google sign-in) the avatar those providers share. Passwords for email accounts are handled and stored by Supabase; we never see them.
- Cloud boards: photos and videos you upload to shared boards, board names, captions, and membership. Media files are stored on Cloudflare R2; board data is stored in Supabase. People you share a board or public link with can see what you post there.
- Creator marketplace (if you apply): your display name, bio, avatar, products you submit, sales records, and the payout details you enter (bank account or PayPal email) so we can pay you.
- Web purchases & affiliate (if used): subscription and order records — amounts, timestamps, and payment references. Card/bank details go directly to the payment provider (SePay or PayPal); we never receive them.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account directly in the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period. During those 30 days you can change your mind — sign in and tap Cancel Deletion in Settings.
- After 30 days, your account and the personal data linked to it are permanently deleted: your sign-in identity (email, name, avatar), your boards and uploaded media, and your creator profile and payout details.
- We keep what the law requires us to keep: records of purchases and payouts (amounts, dates, order references) are retained for bookkeeping and tax purposes, no longer linked to a usable account.
- You can also request deletion, or a copy of your data, by emailing [email protected] from the account's email address. We answer within 30 days.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase in the app, and Google Analytics on this website, to see which features and screens are popular so we can improve Filmode.
- Only aggregate usage data is collected — screen views, taps, session length, device model and country. Your photos are never included.
- Signed-in analytics use a pseudonymous user id only — never your email or name.
- The app uses the analytics SDK without the advertising identifier (IDFA); we do not track you across apps and show no ads.
- On the website, analytics load only after you accept the cookie banner, and can be declined.
- You can opt out of app analytics by turning off analytics/personalization in your device settings, or by contacting us.
Purchases
In-app purchases on iOS are processed entirely by Apple; we receive no payment details. Purchases on filmode.app are processed by SePay (bank transfer) or PayPal — we receive only a payment confirmation and reference, never your card or bank credentials.
App Clip
The Filmode App Clip (the Vibe camera with live LUTs) follows the same rules: photos are captured and processed on device, and nothing is uploaded unless you share it yourself.

Third parties we rely on
- Supabase — authentication and board database.
- Cloudflare R2 — storage for board media you upload.
- Google Firebase / Google Analytics — usage analytics (no IDFA, no ads).
- Apple — in-app purchases, Sign in with Apple.
- SePay / PayPal — web payments.
- Sentry — server error monitoring (no photo content).
We never sell your data, and we share it with no one beyond the processors above.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export, or erase your personal data, and you can withdraw consent for analytics at any time. Use the in-app deletion flow or email us; we respond within 30 days.
Children
Filmode is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
